| 2 Aug 2009 by toiletduck The computer displays the Windows XP splash screen (the one with the little animated progress bar thingy) and then automatically restarts -- lather, rinse, repeat. There are no error messages displayed. ... I do have 2 DVD/CDROM drives. One CD-RW and one DVD-RW. The DVD-RW is the drive I always use now and it had been working fine. But the other was BAD! | 30 Jun 2005 I have a PowerBook G4 1.67 GHz, SuperDrive, running 10.4.2. When I insert a CD, it spins/revs up quickly and then, within a second immediately spins down again. The disk does not show up anywhere, cannot be ejected, and when I try to open disk utility, it freezes in the "Gathering Disk ... The CD-RW drive in my old iBook failed after little more than a year; I hope the problems we're seeing aren't signs that SuperDrives are starting to fail prematurely as well. ...
