| 7 Jul 2005 by deane@deanebarker.net They spun these CDs (and exploded many of them) in front of an unprotected gelatin mold of a human. The damage was exceptional. The exploding CDs spun outward like ninja stars, doing considerable damage to the dummy. .... The cd rw was an asus(late model) btw. | 10 Oct 2008 by ricardoftjunior I have a laptop Compaq Armada M700 with a DVD/CD drive. I don't know what I did wrong but my DVD drive does not read any CDs anymore. I tried Audio CDs, CD-R, CD-RW but they are not recognized. It does read any DVD, though. Can somebody help me? Regards, ... In the case I worked with the drive would occasionally "catch" a CD but usually just spun up and said there was nothing in the drive but if you entered a DVD it read it fine. I had successfully resurrected my dead GeForce 8800 GTX by baking it in an oven. It's aliiiiiiive! Look! It's moving. It's alive. ... I wonder if I should trying this baking trick with a laptop that has a malfunctioning usb port from a static discharge to the USB port...and/or the dvd/cd-rw that no longer reads CDs ...
