Durian » Blog Archive » Skin and city
17 Nov 2009 by soenke
From the last Durian blog entries, it seems the Sintel movie universe is very close in spirit (toonish, colorful, with sword and guns… renaissance fantasy instead of medieval). The character called “The Vanquisher” could look like a grown up .... 3. more contrast in “shadow areas” - the walls could for example have a diffuse fresnel reflection, so that the walls which are almost perpendicular to the camera reflects more light than those facing us. 4. add more variation. ...

Bram Stoker's Dracula « Franz Patrick's Film Archive
21 Nov 2009 by Franz Patrick
When I watch a movie about Dracula, I expect to be suspended in suspense instead of watching him yearn over a lover. I thought the best scenes in the film were in the first half. There was something extremely creepy about the whole vibe of the castle ... Every shadow and dark corner of the room felt menacing as if something seriously wrong was about to happen. The soundtrack was used sparingly so that the audiences could hear every creak and footstep made in the castle. ...

3 Nov 2009 by Corey Henson
I resisted seeing this when it was in theaters over the summer because the previews made it look like baby vomit, and I had no desire to spend ten bucks and a couple of hours in a movie theater to have my intelligence insulted, ... There are also some killer geek-out moments, mostly due to the presence of Storm Shadow and Snake-eyes. 15 Nov 2009 by Robin

The film's story reaches its climax in the City of London, as Anne attempts to escape from those who have betrayed her through the narrow streets in the shadow of St Paul's. ...

9 Nov 2009 by Art Feierman
Of course someone “movie only” and just watches just 10 total hours a week, likely would have to keep the Panasonic for at least 3-4 years before the Epson's total costs come down to match the Panasonic. Thus the hobbyist, who upgrades his projector every couple ..... In most cases the Panasonic will have the advantage, such as black levels or shadow detail (slight). In dark scenes though the Panny will shine. It is on those that it will leave the Viewsonic “in the dust”. ...

Fancore Pirate Radio » Blog Archive » DVD Vault: G.I. Joe Resolute
10 Nov 2009 by Rovin
Meanwhile Snake Eyes must travel to Japan to settle an old feud with his ninja brother Storm Shadow, which just might be a distraction to keep Snake Eyes away from the Joes during this major world crisis. ... Resolute is collected together as one hour long movie for the DVD. The animation is crisp, adapting an 'Americanized' anime look to it, which noticeably stands out during the ninja fight scenes. Again, fans of the original G.I. Joe (well maybe not the 60's era, ...

These would be good ways to get impressions, but you wouldn't trust any of these for ... Very true, although I did make a rare exception with Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon on my review wiki since I found the last battle to be unbeatable no matter how hard I tried, and I didn't want to suffer through the whole game again, ...
