MarketSaw - 3D Movies, Gaming and Technology: Reviews: Not One ...
17 Dec 2009 by Jim Dorey - Editor
What makes me say this is that the end credits were shown with positive parallax and not at screen distance (with zero screen parallax). In my experience most 3D movies have their end credits shown at zero screen parallax - so that patrons don't need to wear glasses to see the ... In one of the reviews of the movie I read they referred to the cautious use of 3D - except for one scene in the beginning which was there just to show that Cameron could do in-your-face 3D too. ...

Is Anybody There?: 40th Anniversary of the US Release of ...

it would have been hard for him to play it that way given the expectations from the past 5 movies. This is where I think Lazenby really shines. & he especially does so in the final scene (spoiler alert) when we see him deal with the murder of his new bride. You can feel the hurt & pain ... It gets worked in as an instrumental at various times, including the powerful ending where it is played slowly, almost dirgelike & segues into the Bond theme for the closing credits. ...

Every single aspect of this scene is mindblowing. I was completely enthralled. I finally felt a little emotion during the destruction of the planet towards the end. And of course the final battle is nothing short of amazing. ... And that is the reason I don't think it's more than just a good solid popcorn movie. But people that are obsessed with Blu-Ray visuals are probably going to jizz all over themselves watching this. I do have to mention the song at the end credits. ...

How U2 Got That Globes Nomination | The Wrap

They'll be back this year as nominees for “Winter,” the closing-credits song they wrote for Jim Sheridan's movie “Brothers.” The song may be a spare, atmospheric ballad, but the band and the director forged a relationship more than 30 years ago ... Jim really started with the urban community theater scene in Dublin, with a center he co-founded called the Project Arts Center. It was a place for people who had interest in theater but no access to acting lessons or anything. ...

But it was well within keeping with the literary Bond created by Ian Fleming & a side of Bond all to often missing from the movies until daniel Craig. (A couple exceptions are a scene in The Spy Who Loved Me & the Timothy Dalton potrayal of Bond, esp in License to Kill, my #2 favorite ... Pau Movie: The Echo

And so I did watch it and it gave me the creeps from its opening credits till the end. The story revolved around Bobby, a paroled convict, who went home to stay at his mother's apartment who was found dead in it. ... is hovering down to him from the ceiling while dripping blood, the restroom scene where the dead kid wild bloodied hands clenching the topside of the toilet cubicle, and the sound effects done to mimic the sounds made during the death of the family next door. ...

5 Reasons Television is Better than Movies | Top Cultured
16 Dec 2009 by Evan Porter
Boobs used to be the best part about going to the movies. Who could forget those nights when your parents would cover your eyes through the “adult parts,” during family movie night, but guess who was the first in line at Blockbuster when that bad boy came ... When the credits roll on a television show, that is the end. Occasionally, an extra scene will run in the corner, or the credits will appear squished at the bottom of the screen, but there is no trickery involved. ...

Most of us already know that it's NOT socially acceptable to talk during a movie. But to those of us who weren't born in a barn, these rude movie-goers are still a constant burden. It's time to fight back, dirty. With Avatar in theaters, the stakes are simply too high ... That means, no walking in front of someone seated to finish the credits. And maybe save that thing you NEED to say for the hallway or the parking lot, rather than voice it right as the film fades to black.

Avatar: Probably The Best-Looking Movie Ever Made | Gizmodo Australia
16 Dec 2009 by Nick Broughall
It's one of the most cliched scenes in modern day cinema. But for the entire scene, I dared not blink, for fear that I'd miss a moment of what is undoubtedly one of the most breathtakingly beautiful films ever made. ... A man in an unwashed mcdonalds uniform yelled and spluttered at his four 3month-3yearold children for the entire movie.. I was still moistly engrossed until the closing credits. I am so incredibly glad that it lived up to the hype. ...

I want to wait and see if this movie has a stinger.” “A what?” The boy explained, “A stinger is what they called a hidden scene after the end credits. I always forget to hang around and then I have to wait for the DVD to see it.” ... Mark could tell he was an usher from his red vest and black bow tie, but couldn't believe the employee had been standing there during the entire feature. The usher walked past them and exited through the back doors, leaving Mark and the boy ...
