Advice for a Reader with a Really Bad Car Loan | AllFinancialMatters
12 Nov 2009 by JLP
There's no way around it…a 19.5% interest rate on a car loan is crazy! If you kept the loan for the entire 72 months, you would be paying over $16000 in interest! That's roughly 70% of the price of the car. .... It's got 120k miles now, in great shape, and from reading online forums, people are getting upwards of 250k miles on the same model made in the late 80s, as long as it is properly maintained (trans fluid is a big thing people neglect). ...

I like using DOT 5 silicone brake fluid and have had great luck with it in all my old cars. In doing the wheel cylinders, you'll be able to inspect the condition of the brake shoes and drums and replace if necessary. I recommend dropping the fuel tank and cleaning it out. ... I'd also replace all the rubber hoses under the hood and you may want to take your radiator to a shop to have it boiled out and flow tested. Good luck with your project! whjco is online now ...

LES and DNS -- CFD Online Discussion Forums
12 Nov 2009 by thecfduser
Mostly, but the N-S equations are based, by theirselves, on approximations (i.e., the Newtonian fluid assumption, the incompressibility assumption, the Stokes hypothesis and so on...). .... When i examine on fluent the instant flow rate at inlets and outlets, i see that they are slightly different (error is about 10-5). The FV is conservative so from where i get that difference??? Is it from the hardware accuracy (it will vanishes if i use double precision? ...

Advice on fuel senders for gas - The Hull Truth
9 Nov 2009 by ofishal
Wondering if anybody can give me some advice on a new fuel sender. Right now I have the lowrance EP65R fluid level. It is hooked up and working but. ... Last edited by TTaxi; 11-10-2009 at 10:13 PM. TTaxi is online now ... You can set up your fuel remaining source to be calculated by the fuel flow or the fluid level and both can be calibrated. You shouldn't need a new sender. You just need to calibrate the fluid level sensor based on actual gallons in the tank. ...

Chevy guy gone V-TEC Help! Question about exhaust - Honda Prelude ...
18 Nov 2009 by norvtec
Then I added on some headers & free flow cat. What I noticed is it changed the power band of the V-TEC but it robbed the mid range & top end power. i ended up removing the exhaust & went back to stock. Can anyone explain why this ... So far no issues with trans. fluid was clean when I got the car. I replaced the fluid anyway. I did use Honda ATF fluid. What does the trans have to do with exhaust robbing power from a motor anyway. With stock exhaust the VTEC runs perfect. ...

The MonSter ate my branes! - Writing/revising/rewriting/editing ...
9 Nov 2009 by Natalie S Ford
Pretty fundamental advice, to be honest. I know there are probably many ways of doing this and I do know a little about copyediting and proofreading other people's writing but, how do people edit their own work? .... For me, it lets my subconscience go to town on it for a bit, and when I re-read it before editing I usually am far better to identify where things should be re-organized for better flow than if I tried right after I first wrote it. ...
