| 16 Apr 2007 Obviously the Fuji discs you have must be older ones that are only rated at 2x and that's why they would only burn at 2x. I have achieved 8x write speeds on my iMac Core Duo using TDK DVD-R discs that are rated at 8x. ..... I was a light user of it too and spent a ton of $$$ with Apple. I'm shocked they haven't just come out and said "Matshita drives just sucked" and done a recall. My HD went possessed after a year, but Apple Care replaced it after two visits. ...
