| 13 Jul 2008 by gkinghrn I always use the Mobile and VOB passthru to capture my DVD's and then stream them to the device of my choice in the house. However i can get problems when trying to ffw them to specific bits , obviously can't use the next chapter since the chapter marks get .... Your best bet is an encoded solution. As of version 5.0.5.5, DVDFab encoding is still geared toward "mobile" devices and is not, IMHO, yet suitable for big screen output. There are many others freely available. ... | 22 Nov 2009 All three times I was doing the same thing. I had a DVD in my drive. AnyDVD was removing the encryption. I was running Vidomi, a freeware program for extracting video segments out of DVD VOB files. (I'd link to it, but it doesn't seem to be there any longer. ... Explorer just bagged it again, while I was trying to copy VOB files from the next DVD onto my HD. I think I'm going to turn off the "Details pane" for the time being. | 30 Nov 2009 Try taking one of your ripped DVD (.vob structure) folders and run it through VOB2MPG to create a single .mpg file. They seem to work a little better with VLC. Next, I'd try converting it to .mkv with Handbrake. ..... The best thing to do is play around and find a compromise because it will be just that. There are far too many containers and codecs for the companies to settle on so you get stuck with that horrible word which means it won't play on x device or something. ...
