| 3 Dec 2009 Not just in the detail but also the color reproduction and reduction of video artifacts that came with the mpeg2 codec dvd used. I don't buy dvd's any longer. Nothing but Blu-ray. Having said that, there's no way I'm buying the trilogy twice, and I really don't care to see .... looking forward to the star wars blu-rays, too, but just new hope and empire...jedi gets lumped in with the recent trilogy as a pass...ewoks fighting stormtroopers had fail written all over it...;P ... I'm worried that there may some setting outside of CloneDVD Movie and on my system in general that's .... Generic MPEG2 Re-Encode also works ok with the subtitles (angle 1 and subtitle 2). Generating 720x480 (NTSC) - either avi or mpg - takes longer than creating a vob but should stream at good quality and is only a quarter of the size. ... | 28 May 2008 by Darren Murph It was JUST movie of the year and won the most awards that year, not to mention a huge seller on DVD but I hope you're right about the speed of a Blu-Ray release for it. :) ..... Even though I am and will always be a huge fan of the original 3 Starwars movies, I'd rather have LotR extended edition trilogy first. But when Starwars trilogy comes out on blu-ray, I will own yet another edition of it. LotR blu-ray though is an absolute must. ... | 7 Dec 2009 by Andy Quested EBU investigations in 2005 showed that some MPEG-4 H.264/AVC hardware encoders did not show any bitrate advantage over MPEG-2 and in some cases even performed less well than MPEG-2 encoders. This situation improved by September 2006, ..... I remember watching an episode of'Sharp' for example, and commenting on how it wasn't! Now, post bitrate reduction on BBC HD, I actually look forward to watching ITV HD - the Star Wars films have been excellent, for example. ...
