It's directed by Ridley Scott and stars Russell Crowe, which are exactly the same roles they both had in the amazingly awesome and still best-ever Russell Crowe movie, Gladiator (which, incredibly enough opened up nearly 10 years ago in 2000). | 16 Dec 2009 by Perez Hilton It looks great to me. It looks way darker and grittier than the Kostner version. I love Russell Crowe, so I am looking forward to watching this movie. I'm a huge Ridley Scott fan and I like that he made Robin Hood grittier, it looks more realistic. .... I loved Robin Hood Prince of Thieves when I was 12, watched it again when I was 29 and just about died laughing at Costner's complete inability to act…let alone attempt an English accent. Terrible.
