Sad news for fans of the ABC series Eastwick, it was announced late yesterday that the new series (which is based on the 1987 film The Witches of Eastwick) has been canceled! ... we fans of the series should be somewhat relieved that ABC still plans to finish production of the initial 13 episodes and promises to air them … many shows that get canceled in this manner just disappear immediately and you're lucky if the unaired eps show up on DVD at some point down the line. ... Eastwick boss Maggie Friedman who executive produced the series was said to be extremely frustrated and angry at the way she feels the series was mishandled by the network.
