For anyone who has seen Avatar (I just watched it tonight), you'll see a lot of similarities between the movie and Dances with Wolves , and I guess. ... It is just a movie that is just making up story just like 2012 movie which is not true. I have not see this movie yet, either. There is no movie house on the island and I have to rent the DVD to watch the movie. DeafToniB is offline. Digg this Post! Add Post to del.icio.us · Bookmark Post in Technorati · Furl this Post! ...

Avatar Is Like The iPhone Of Movies
16 hours ago by Michael Arrington
The amazing thing about Avatar isn't the story – it's simply a passable tale that's part Pocahontas, part Dances With Wolves. But it's a story played by ten foot tall blue people with tails who fly around on miniature dragons and generally kick ... Avatar, like Titanic, is one of those movies you'll want to see over and over. But don't wait for the DVD. This is a movie that has to be seen in 3D. And for that you have to go to the theater. Go see it, you'll thank me later. ...

Completely Pointless Movie Reviews!: AVATAR
8 hours ago by naudy
I'm still searching for a way to describe it but perhaps DANCES WITH WOLVES set in a jungle/fishbowl as acted by sexy blue tigers covers it. Or perhaps I should say it's almost as good as the best Pixar movie ever made. ... If there's a movie you want to force us to watch, email at susanaud@gmail.com or review it yourself and send it! WE GRADE MOVIES ON A 1-10 SCALE (1 = It sucked my soul out through my eyes and 10 = I'm buying the DVD so I can tuck it under my pillow at ...

Avatar talkback | Cartoon Brew: Leading the Animation Conversation
19 Dec 2009 by jerry
Why should I watch a Cameron movie with spectacle but stupid characters and dialogue when I can put on a DVD of a Cameron movie with spectacle and *interesting* characters and dialogue, like 'Aliens' or 'T2′? ... The movie is Sgt. Rock and Dances with Wolves crossed with big doses of Ferngully(even down to a dozer taking out the giant sacred…well, you know). Other thoughts: It's too long by at least 30 minutes. I was flabbergasted at the amount of clumsy exposition from ...

This wasn't accomplished by military conquest. Not like ancient civilizations of Rome or Babylon. "was kind of a referance to. Native Americans.." It was a total rip-off of Dances With Wolves. Hated that movie for the exact same reason. .... better to do... it is what it is, an enjoyable movie nothing much, along the lines of Iron Man (cool movie I loved it but it's not changing movie history, and I actually own the Iron Man dvd, unlike Avatar which I don't plan to own) ...

Avatar : Movies for Guys
18 Dec 2009 by Mack Guffin
Yes, this is basically Dances With Wolves with blue aliens. Dances With Blue Aliens? But James Cameron brings those little touches that set his movies apart. Here he's constructed all sorts of future-tech, and a fully realized alien world. ... Yes it is, but it's not mandatory, I expect this will look look good on movie screens without 3-D, and also eventually on DVD and Blue-Ray. The movie is 2 hours and 42 minutes long, so get comfortable in the theater. ...

Pancakes in the Age of Enlightenment: Henry Saw: Avatar

I don't care how cynical you are about the hype, how much you dislike recent "event" movies or James Cameron's last film Titanic...I don't care. You must see this movie in theaters. Because if you wait to see it on DVD you may as well not see ... Unfortunately...the movie has a plot. And it's a really derivative and lame one. The film is exactly what it looked like in the trailers: Dances with Wolves meets Ferngully meets Aliens. Not one thing that happens in the film is ...

Everyone I know is pretty much all about this Avatar movie, and I can honestly say that I probably will not be seeing the movie until it hits DVD. Who knows, maybe others opinions after seeing the movie will change my mind, and possibly spike .... It was essentially Dances with Wolves in space, but with that said I enjoyed Dances with Wolves too… James Cameron really knows how to make epic villains; I'm amazed Hollywood let him get away giving any positive trait including ...

All of that gets wasted to some degree on a plot that combines Dances with Wolves and Dune, with a dash of Return of the Jedi for a Luddite noble-savages-defeat-technology flavor. Jake Sully (Sam Worthington) gets to be Paul .... I'll wait until it comes out on television then watch a “Wiggles” DVD instead. Bubba Redneck on December 20, 2009 at 1:57 AM. It's in the documentary DVD for the original trilogy. Duh. Comment by Mark — December 18, 2009 @ 3:06 pm Reply to this post. As far as grosses are concerned, why is there no mention of the long running time? .... Titanic was a movie appealing to women (guys LOATHE Leonardo Di Caprio). Terminator I & II was a guy's action movie. This? Waterworld meets Dances With Wolves meets the Abyss. Technically superb, but an empty, Malibu Millionaire cliche. ...
