| 10 Jun 2008 I can totally empathize with each and every one of you. I had severe symptons while on Eltroxin and Synthroid for over 20 years. I hit the wall when I went into menopause , gained weight, itchy skin dry eyes, plantar facaeitis. ...... hands always in water and am getting old bah hum bug i'm not even 30………….. plus my hair is still thinning and yet i was told that if i went on medication it would stop…. well i never had problems with my hair till i went ON the medication… ... I'm wondering if I continue with the allergy medication (Zyzol, Zantac, hydroxyzine) and the hives clear up, how will I know if the synthroid is what worked or the allergy meds? .... I could see where the citrizine meds would help if you had a response to a bug bite. But angioedema and hives often start with itching in the hands. It would be good to have tests for thyroid antibodies to see if you might be having a thyroid antibody ... Things got worse again and went to the ER cause I would not eat and pretty much ... to let the Lyme run amuck, the neck pains, I TOO had hashimotos thyroid-2 nodules- after my IV treatment 2 months later it went back to full normal size and nodules gone- never took a synthroid pill since 2002 when I had treatemtnt. ... She told me (and I've confirmed with my research) that I shouldn't change brands because thyroid replacement hormones are kind of tricky and changing brands .... There are only 2 things about it that bug me: 1. scar tissue is thicker and less flexible than regular skin so it impairs my movement when I turn my head sometimes and it's also still sensitive, but that's lessening. ...
