| 19 Nov 2009 Would anybody calculate how nmany lives were unnecessary and unjustly lost in these 6+ years due to insisting on "thizide type diuretic" and not Chlortalidone in both ALLHAT paper report and in JNC 7 guidelines? Number may run in 10s of thousands if not ... One problem with chlorthalidone for us is that the minimum tablet size where I practice is 50 mg (unless you prescribe in combo with atenolol - i.e. atenolol-chlorthalidone 50/25).
