| 21 Nov 2009 by dollface#10 WOE: JUDDD. Start Date: 11/7/09. I had to switch from Naturethroid to Synthroid/Cytomel. This switch seems to result in less water retention for me. I notice a strong diuretic effect after taking my Cytomel. Redeemed is offline .... I can't wait for it. The synthetics are much better than reformulated Armour, but I felt better on the old Armour. I can't really explain it. I also was able to loose wt with exercise and diet on the old Armour. I have gained a total of 10lbs ... | 20 Nov 2009 by dearthyroid I was put on 75mcg of Synthroid which worked fine until my mail order pharmacy suggested I take levothyroxin instead as it would save ME money. Last winter was the worst of my life with exhaustion, dry skin, weight gain, ... only issue is that you may need to take more than one pill or cut some pills to get the dose you need. Your doctor would need to write “No Substitution” on the prescription and that way they have to give you only Levoxyl. I hope you feel better soon. ... She said that she would do that if my numbers looked a little better, but because it is still so far from where it should be, .... I haven't change much of my eating habits, but after I started losing weight I moved more got a job that is better than joining a gym (they pay me to lift and run). My blood results are good on both. | 30 Oct 2009 I have had a total thyroidectomy for thyroid cancer. I have taken Synthroid replacement and Armour replacement. Armour provides better results. If you want to take something off the market...take the synthetic drug...Synthroid. Leave Armour alone. .... You folks (FDA) seem more influenced by what BIG PHARMA can give you rather than for our health welfare. Since I refuse to to use synthetics, my health suffers--as does everyone else here!
